Identity, persistence, and reset

The browser SDK persists identity by default using cookies and local storage, with memory fallback behavior. user() and group() read current state. reset() clears current user and group state.

Use this when a user logs out and another account logs in on the same browser. Do not alias the two accounts.

Choose persistence settings that match consent and privacy requirements.

user() and group() return the current identity state. The buffered browser instance returns promises for these getters; the initialized analytics instance returns the state directly.
